Ventura College will hold its first student art sale, showcasing artwork made in the on-campus ceramics classes as well as student-made jewelry.

The Student Art sale at VC is available for anyone who would like to send in his or her artwork to be displayed and sold to the public.

In order to participate in the sale, they are required to complete a "Student Art Sale Artist's Information Packet" available from any instructor at the Art department, building SAB, which is located in the rear of the college.

Additional requirements included in information packet/application are that they volunteer for a minimum 2-hour block of time; they have completed tax form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification), they have completed inventory sheet and that all the pricing is done with stickers on each item.

Participants will receive a check from VC for 80% of sale amount with the remaining 20% going back to the instructor/discipline section of the art department.

They are also looking for volunteers to run the sale. Currently, they are in need of volunteers to set-up, cashiers, baggers, and a clean-up crew.

The drop off time for all art is Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The art sale will be held in the "New Media Gallery" on the Ventura College campus on Nov. 21, 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a jewelry sale on Dec. 5 to 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
