Ventura women's volleyball came up short against the Santa Barbara Vaqueros on Oct. 14 for their second conference loss this week.
The Pirates were swept in 3 straight sets, making it an early night for Santa Barbara.
Outside hitter Holi Dugan said the team has a lot to work on for the remaining games left in the season.
"The team now is going to focus on coming together in unity," said Dugan. "We tend to play as individuals out there but we need to mend together in order to achieve the goals we are attempting to attain."
Ventura got off to a fighting start, only to fall apart towards the end of each game.
The scores of all three games were 16-25, 13-25 and 11-25.
Kryssy Koziel had 10 assists 2 aces, while Dejiana Rubio had 3 kills.
As the team struggles to get a win in the conference, their determination to get a win is not to be overlooked.
The team hopes to continue to improve and have a successful upcoming week for the rest of conference matchups.
The Pirates next game is Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. against L.A Mission.
