The Hurt Locker's sweep of the major Academy Awards categories was unforseen by readers of the Student Voice. Participants in an online poll predicted that Avatar would win the Best Picture award with a 25% vote.
Runners-up were District 9, The Hurt Locker and Inglorious Basterds, all tied at 16%.
The George Clooney critic's gem Up in the Air apparently didn't speak much to the readers of the Student Voice, recieving no votes over the almost two weeks the poll was online.
