A look into ancient ceramics

Ceramic art is can be hard to make, but turning those pieces of art into whistles takes a special person.

This is what the ancient people of Peru did with their ceramic pieces of art. Moorpark College Ceramics professor Gerry Zucca, gave a presentation on the different types of ceramic whistle these people made.

"We will be going through 1800 BC-1532 worth of pottery," said Zucca. "These people were pioneers in ceramics. They have some of the most amazing work."

Zucca covered all of the different kinds of sculptures and styles that existed through the years in Persia. Some of the work went as far back to the Ancient Incas. He also showed how the different groups of people made whistle of all different sizes, from stirrup bottle and double chambered bottles.

Once the lecture was done, everybody attempted to make their own whistles from clay.
